Hi Folks,
How's everybody doing? Mostly OK here. Online school is tough on my kids, my wife is carrying us financially and I really miss playing for a live audience. But for now we're hanging in and hanging on! Panorama can help you get through this with our music. You can help Panorama get through this with your dollars. For other ways to support your personal jazz band, visit our homepage. And if you're in the New Orleans area, talk to me about a "Panorama Porch Party!"

Your Panorama track for September 2020 is a sunny little pentatonic (five note) tune I came up with back in the mid 90's. I never made anything out of it but it never went away, so I finally worked up an arrangement and we recorded it last October (along with "Lebedik un Freylekh," "Way Down Yonder in New Orleans" and "I Wish I Could Shimmy Like My Sister Kate"). The reason for the 11 month lag between October and now was the track's "breakdown" section which begins at 1:57. It was incomplete, it needed something else. What I finally realized was that it needed a clarinet solo so I went back in the studio on August 10 and crafted a few phrases to float over what we'd already recorded.

The thing I really dig about recording music is the marriage of performing and composing. Your continued patronage allows us to do that. We hope it's good for you too although I can't imagine it's AS good for you as it is for us. Thanks for helping us stay afloat so far.
